Gesmundo leads flag-raising rite at Bonifacio Monument
CHIEF Justice Alexander G. Gesmundo on Sunday led the flag-raising ceremony at the Bonifacio Monument in Caloocan City on the occasion of the 124th anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence.
The Bonifacio Monument Circle and adjacent roads in Caloocan City was closed to motorists beginning midnight of June 12 for the commemoration of the Philippine independence.
This is a regular holiday in the Philippines, which was being celebrated annually on June 12th.
This day commemorates the Philippine Declaration of Independence from Spain on June 12, 1898.
