Fisherman floats in ocean for 3 days

A FISHERMAN survived three days and three nights without food while floating in the ocean.

This was what happened to a fisherman from Bolinao, Pangasinan whose fishing boat was sunk by big waves and strong winds along the high seas in the West Philippine sea until he was rescued Sunday by fishermen off the waters of Bgy. Apatot, San Esteban Ilocos Sur, more than 100 miles away.

According to a report, Rommy Dulay, 53, a resident of Bgy. Balingsay, Bolinao, was holding on to a styrofoam 29 miles away from Apatot seashore when was spotted by fishermen in the area.

The report said Jimmy Baldeviso, 49, together with his son Joshua Baldeviso, 29, of Bgy. Apatot, San Esteban went fishing on board a motorized fishing boat on Sunday morning.

As they were catching fish along the West Philippine sea, they saw Dulay waving and asking for help.

A police inquiry revealed Dulay person went fishing last August 5, 2021 off Bolinao seas hundreds of miles away, when his boat capzised due to bad weather.

Luckily, Dulay got hold a styrofoam and used this to float for three days and nights.

The Dulay was brought to the Ilocos Sur District hospital in Narvacan, Ilocos Sur for medical treatment.
