Fisherman drowns in Nasugbu
A FISHERMAN drowned while fishing in the waters off in Barangay Balaytigue, Nasugbu, Batangas, Tuesday.
Nasugbu Municipal Police Station chief P/Lt. Col Jephte F. Banderado said the fatality was identified as Fernando Tesorero, and the incident occurred around 12:45 p.m.
Investigation disclosed that Tesorero and his co-worker were fishing using a “pana” or improvised crossbow in the sea off Bgy. Balaytigue.
Tesorero then submerged in the water and searched for fish.
After a few minutes, his companion saw him floating unconscious and immediately sought help.
Rescuers were able to retrieve the victim’s lifeless body out of the water.
The body was brought to St. Peter Funeral Homes for post-mortem examination, and the police investigation is still ongoing.
