THE Philippine chapter of the prestigious Paris-based International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI) declared its “unwavering support” to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino program.

In the Property and Real Estate Excellence Awards held last February 21 in Pasay City, Human Settlements and Urban Development Undersecretary Henry Yap represented Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar in receiving the manifesto of support that FIABCI issued as a pledge “to commit to the noblest form of endeavor” in regard to ‘Pambansang Pabahay’.

Signed by FIABCI’s national officers, the manifesto dubbed PBBM’s ‘Pambansang Pabahay’ under the DHSUD’s leadership as “the answer to the longtime clamor to address the housing gap in the county.”

It also branded DHSUD as “the government’s implementing arm that will alleviate the living condition of the homeless and pave the way for a progressive future of the next generation.”

FIABCI said it strongly believes and backs the flagship housing program’s goal of building six million housing units until 2028 and its impact on job creation estimated to generate 1.7 million jobs a year.

For DHSUD’s part, Acuzar expressed sincere appreciation for such recognition.

“We truly appreciate this kind of alliance. We know we share a mutual goal of advancing the real estate industry, thereby helping our stakeholders fulfill their respective aspirations. You have a pool of industry experts, business leaders and global partners in your league, who we can candidly say would be of great help to DHSUD in delivering our mandate for the Filipino people,” Acuzar said.

Acuzar hailed FIABCI’s keen interest in increasing real estate-related demands and activities, and providing decent shelters for Filipino families.

“With FIABCI’s global network, we are optimistic on expanding our scope and go beyond the borders of our domestic knowledge in addressing the demand for housing benefiting informal settler families and the working class,” he added.

In the awarding ceremony, FIABCI conferred a Fellow in Real Estate Management on Undersecretary Yap, among other executives, for his extensive experience in and contribution to the industry.

Since its conception in 1951 in France, FIABCI has provided access and opportunities for real estate professionals interested in gaining knowledge, sharing information and best practices.

“Thank you, FIABCI, and to all our supporters. DHSUD will continue to do its part in creating an enabling environment for the sustainable growth of the human settlements and urban development sector,” Acuzar said.
