FEU, UE spikers stay unbeaten
FAR Eastern University and University of the East rolled to their third straight victories after sweeping separate foes in the V-League Collegiate Challenge at the Paco Arena yesterday.
The Lady Tamaraws imposed their with a quick 25-11, 25-10, 25-16 romp over Enderun Colleges to remain unbeaten.
The Lady Warriors kept within reach of their U-Belt rivals by trouncing San Sebastian, 25-14, 25-19, 25-14.
FEU interim head coach Manolo Refugia was pleased with his wards’ latest performance, saying, “Masaya ako kasi na-meet namin ‘yung objectives for this game – na ma-lessen yung errors.
Maganda naman ‘yung performance ng lahat.”
Rookie Kiesha Bedonia took charge for the Lady Tamaraws with 14 points, Faida Bakanke broke through with 10 points, including two blocks, while Chenie Tagaod fired three service aces to finish with seven points.
Erika Deloria led the Lady Titans offense with six points, as the team’s best scorer Althea Botor could only score two points.
Casiey Dongallo was on fire for UE with 18 points, Jelai Gajero had three blocks for a 16-point outing to go along with six digs while Riza Nogales logged five of her 11 points off blocks.
Zenith Depasoy tallied eight points for the Lady Stags.
Enderun slipped to 1-2, while San Sebastian absorbed its third straight loss.
In men’s play, University of Santo Tomas picked up where it left off, topping erstwhile unbeaten University of Perpetual Help System Dalta, 25-19, 25-19, 25-15.
UAAP Season 85 MVP Josh Ybañez showcased another exceptional performance with 14 points, including two service aces, while GBoy De Vega added 10 points forthe Golden Spikers, who tied the Altas at 2-1.
National University secured a bounce-back victory against a resilient Emilio Aguinaldo College side, 25-14, 29-27, 22-25, 25-23.
Jefferson Marapoc stood out for Perpetual with 15 points.
