Ferrer urged to ‘step up’ COVID-19 vax drive in GenTri

GENERAL TRIAS CITY (GEnTri), Cavite – In a meeting called by City Mayor Luis “Jon Jon” Ferrer IV to the 33 barangay chairmen led by Liga ng mga Barangay (LnB) Federation President Ireneo Hatid of the said city, urged the local chief executive to “intensify” the COVID-19 vaccination drive for residents Friday, July 29, 2022.

They discussed and agreed to intensify the vaccination program in collaboration with the City Health Office for the booster or completion of first and second doses.

“Isa po ang pagpapabakuna at booster sa mga sagot sa pagtaas ng bilang ng kaso ng COVID-19 sa ating lungsod, ang (COVID-19) vaccine po ay proven na effective laban sa naturang sakit, sayang po ang additional protection natin at ating pamilya,” Ferrer said during the meeting with village chiefs.

Ferrer also announced that the medical, dental, and legal mission will begin in 33 barangays in the first week of September, starting in Bgy. Alingaro.

The vaccination program continues at Robinsons Place GenTri in Bgy. Tejero and Vista Mall in Bgy. San Francisco from Monday to Friday.

The scheduled “Resbakuna sa Barangay” and mobile vaccination on school campuses can be found on the local government’s Facebook page.

Based on the July 28, 2022 COVID-19 cases report, General Trias has 17 new cases out of 115 active cases, 20,167 confirmed cases, 19,806 recovered, and 246 deaths.
