Farmer, farm owner shot dead in Laguna

A FARMER and a 64-year-old farm owner were killed in separate shooting incidents on Monday in Sta Maria and San Pablo City, Laguna respectively.

Laguna Provincial Director P/Col. Rogarth Campo said the victim from Sta Maria was identified as Roderick Aldea, legal age, of Bgy. Paoo,Sta Maria.

Police said the victim was shot several times by the suspect identified as Bomer Flores, 31, also a farmer and resident of the said barangay.

The victim was pronounced dead on arrival by an attending physician due to the serious wounds he sustained in the body.

Police said the shooting incident occurred at about 9:10 a.m. in Sitio Tibangan Bgy.,Paoo where the suspect and the victim had a heated land dispute.

The suspect went home and returned carrying his firearm. He allegedly shot the victim several times then fled to Bgy. Coralan.

The other shooting incident occurred in Sitio Malabanban, Sto Angel, San Pablo City . Killed was Edwin Bondoc, 64.

P/Lt.Col. Garry Alegre, San Pablo City police chief, said the victim was shot by one of the three suspects on board a motorcycle at about 3:05 p.m.

Police said the victim was walking and doing his daily farm routine when the suspects suddenly arrived and shot him in the face and head, killing him on the spot.
