Fake sex video rocks Leni camp
NETIZENS were up in arms over what they denounced as a “political gimmick” involving fake news of a sex video of the daughters of presidential hopeful Leni Robredo which the social media users believe her own camp had disseminated.
ABS-CBN fact checkers found the reports on the alleged sex videos were fake, revealing that it was her own camp which spread reports that a sex video is set to go viral, purportedly of her daughter Aika, to further push down her chances in the May 9 elections.
Aside from Robredo, some priests, supporters and artists joined the bandwagon and denounced the spread of the video.
“Hindi totoong may sex video ang dalawang anak ni Vice President Leni Robredo,” ABS-CBN Fact Check as it confirmed as fake news the reported videos.
The fact-checkers further said some of the alleged links cannot be opened, when they are clicked, a message from the anti-virus software, warning that it contains a malware, would immediately pop up.
Links for Aika’s alleged sex video were posted on Twitter and Facebook accounts of Leni supporters last week but most of the links do not open, while her face does not even appear on those that can be opened.
Before the Holy Week, Dilawans-turned-Pinklawans expressed outrage that their bet’s opponents are allegedly planning to make the video viral on social media to bar her from winning.
However, political observers and video experts slammed their outrage as just another political gimmick to gain publicity and to take the public’s attention away from negative issues that recently surfaced against her.
Issues that they wanted to cover included Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia’s endorsement of presidential frontrunner Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos, Jr. and fellow presidential bet Panfilo Lacson’s disclosure that Leni’s camp approached him to get him to withdraw so they could adopt his running mate Tito Sotto and ditch her own running mate Kiko Pangilinan.
The gimmick also received flak on different social media platforms, slamming them for resorting to using Leni’s daughters in their desperation to win in the presidential elections.
Nakakatawa talaga.Ha-ha!” Jeana dela Rosa, of Caloocan City, another netizen, meanwhile, said.
