Ex-sikyu nabbed for shooting dead ex-live in partner’s son
OPERATIVES of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit of the Quezon City Police District have arrested the suspect who alleged gunned down the son of his former girlfriend.
PLTCol.Mark Julio Abong, CIDU chief identified the suspect as Florencio Rios, 42, former security guard, and resident of Barangay Old Balara, Quezon City.
The police official said Rios was arrested on March 26, 2022, eight days after shooting to death Rayven Charles Baluno, 20. Two other victims identified as Bryan James Baluno, 22, brother of Rayven Charles and Lianne Garcia, 25, were injured after being shot by the suspect.
Abong said Rios was the former live-in partner of Anna Marie Baluno, the mother of the Baluno brothers, and sister of victim Gracia. Anna Marie reportedly broke up with him and had another partner.
However, the suspect consequently sent nude photos and videos of the two of them, and keep on texting and threatening messages that he would kill her children if she would not break up with her new boyfriend.
Investigation disclosed that on March 18, 2022, the suspect suddenly entered the house of the victims at 197 Sitio Urlina, Bgy. Greater Fairview and fired successive shots at Rayven and Lianne who were then eating lunch. The suspect was about to leave the house, when Bryan James, approached and hit him with a wooden ladder.
Bryan James and the suspect wrestled for possession of the gun.
However, the suspect managed to overpower Bryan James and eventually shot him repeatedly before fleeing. He was then charged before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office for murder and frustrated murder.
On March 26, 2022, the suspect started texting Anna Marie telling her that he wanted to meet her and that if she refused, he will upload her nude videos on social media. The suspect allegedly threatened to throw explosivesat the wake of her child if she will not heed to his demand.
Anna Marie, reported the matter to QCPD-CIDU who immediately conducted an entrapment operation against the suspect.
CIDU operatives led by PLTCol. Mark Julio Abong arrested the suspect along Lilac Avenue corner M.Gabriel Compound West Fairview, Quezon City.
