Ex-OFW wanted for murder falls

ORIENTAL MINDORO – Police the other day reported that a 41-year-old man wanted for two counts of murder in Batangas was nabbed in a detention center in Oriental Mindoro.

Mataas Na Kahoy Municipal Police Station (MPS) Chief Maj. Francisco J. Luceña IV said the suspect who was hiding since he committed the crime was a former OFW (Overseas Filipino Worker) and a resident of Bgy. Mataas Na Kahoy, Batangas.

Luceña said the suspect is also listed as the no. 1 most wanted person (MWP) at the provincial level and was cornered at the Provincial Detention Center Management Division (PDCMD) in Bansud, Oriental Mindoro around 2:30 p.m. by joint elements of the Intelligence Section of Mataas Na Kahoy MPS led by P/SSg. Rolando Dimaano, Jr. and elements of Pinamalyan MPS, in Oriental Mindoro.

The arrest warrant was issued on June 29, 2022, by Presiding Judge Maria Concepcion Marinay Serrano-Altea of the Regional Trial Court of Lipa City, Batangas, for two counts of murder with no bail recommended.
