FORT MAGSAYSAY, Nueva Ecija — A former KADAMAY member-turned New People’s Army rebel surrendered to authorities with his gun and hand grenade, the 7th Infantry Division said.

7th ID commander Major Gen. Andrew Costelo identified the rebel surrenderer as alias “Pado,” 26, of Batasan Hills, Quezon City, and a member of Squad Uno of the NPA’s Kilusang Larangang Gerilya-Sierra Madre.

Alias “Pado,” who was recruited as a Kadamay member in 2016 and later lured to join the NPA, also surrendered a Smith and Wesson cal.38 revolver and a grenade to the 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company, the 91st Infantry Battalion under Lt. Col. Reandrew Rubio and the 703rd Infantry Brigade at the NEPPO headquarters in Cabanatuan City.

During his surrender, he admitted having witnessed how his sick comrades died due to lack of medication.

“Nakita kong namatay sa sakit ang binaon nalang sa tabi ng kampo namin ang aming kasamahan. Naisip ko, paano kaya kung sa akin din nangyari iyon? Kaya pinilit ko talagang bumaba at sobrang bumaba na ang moral ko,” alias “Pado” said.

Lt. Col. Rubio, reiterated his call to the remnants of KLG-SM to abandon the terrorist organization and live a peaceful life.

The 7th ID chief said that it is not anymore surprising that KADAMAY was involved in the recruitment of alias “Pado” to the terrorist organization.

Rubio warned everyone to be vigilant of the CTG’s front organization’s dubious activities. especially these coming elections.
