A House leader has slammed bottom-feeder senatorial candidates who latch onto controversies and attack the Marcos administration just to gain media mileage.

Instead of attacking other candidates, House Deputy Majority Leader and La Union Rep. Paolo Ortega V urged these candidates to present real platforms or measures that they intend to pursue in Congress.

According to Ortega these senatorial candidates, that are at the tail ends of surveys, keep on attack President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. and the House of Representatives in an attempt to boost their visibility.

Ortega emphasized that leadership is about offering real solutions, not just making noise when election season nears.

He said these long-shot candidates continue to spread negativity despite failing to gain traction among voters.

Feeling ko mas sikat ako ng konti sa kanila,” he said in jest.

Ortega pointed out that true public servants gain recognition through results, not relentless smear tactics.

He accused these fringe candidates of using smear tactics instead of presenting concrete programs that would benefit the people.
