DSWD Christmas treat for Metro folk

DSWD1THE Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has started planning for the roll out of

‘Pag-Abot sa Pasko’ program in the National Capital Region (NCR) next month.

DSWD Undersecretary for Innovations Edu Punay presided over the coordination meeting with the representatives of the different Homeowners’ Associations (HOAs), barangays, and organizations in Metro Manila in preparation for the conduct of ‘Pag-Abot sa Pasko’ this coming December.

As part of its Oplan Pag-Abot project, the DSWD is set to roll out special and simultaneous reach-out operations in Quezon City and in the cities of Pasig, Mandaluyong, and San Juan for 31 days with an aim to extend help to the vulnerable and at-risk families and individuals in street situations (FISS) during the yuletide season.

Joining Punay in the meeting are Assistant Secretary Baldr Bringas, Quezon City Councilor Chuckie Antonio, members of the Oplan Pag-Abot Team, and representatives of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and City Social Welfare and Development Offices of Pasig City and Quezon City.

Also present in the meeting are HOA representatives of Whiteplains, Blue Ridge, Green Meadows, St. Ignatius, Barangay Ugong in Pasig City, and the Christ the King.
