The Department of Tourism (DOT) congratulated the Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) for securing the Airport Customer Experience Accreditation from the Airports Council International (ACI).

It is the first and only airport in the Philippines to earn such recognition from the prominent global aviation body, the DOT said.

Cebu’s award-winning airport has been a source of pride for many Filipinos, captivating foreign and domestic travelers, evincing excellence in purveying convenient, efficient, and an enhanced travel experience at every touchpoint of the journey.

As the DOT pursues the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. to transform the Philippines into a tourism powerhouse in Asia, the Department takes great inspiration from this latest milestone of the MCIA and shares in the aspiration to enhance more gateways across the country for the benefit of travelers and tourists.

ACI serves 700+ members, operating 1,950 airports. Only approximately 20 airports from all over the world have achieved ACI CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE LEVEL 1 while around 7 airports achieved Level 2 and above.

The MCIA said this remarkable milestone showcases its unwavering commitment to enhancing customer experience management, leading to efficient check-ins and security procedures, and a diverse range of dining and retail options—all part of its dedication to excellence in every facet of airport operations.
