THE Department of Health (DOH)-Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon) led the blessing of Dolores Super Health Center and the groundbreaking ceremony of the new Birthing Home in Dolores, Quezon, held at Barangay Bulakin II, Dolores, Quezon recently.

The Super Health Center facility is a P6.5 million project funded through the DOH Health Facility Infrastructure Project under GAA (General Appropriations Act) 2022.

Under the project, DOH also turned over medical equipment such as a blood monitoring device, blood pressure apparatus, EENT diagnostic, emergency cart, emergency light (portable, rechargeable), gang Chair, hemocytometer, hematology analyzer.

A microscope binocular, nebulizer, neurologic hammer, pharmaceutical refrigerator, portable mobile X-ray machine, pulse oximeter, spectrophotometer, stethoscope, thermometer infrared non-contact, urine analyzer, vaccine refrigerator, wheeled stretcher, and others, amounting to P5 million.

DOH will also provide one radiologic technician to be assigned to the facility.

Dolores Super Health Center will primarily serve its residents. It has a pharmacy, primary clinical laboratory, X-ray, and consultation likewise accessible to nearby barangay residents.

“This Super Health Center will address the gate keeping of residents needing primary medical services. Hindi na kailangan pang magtungo sa malalayong ospital para lamang magpa x-ray at blood chem. Sa pamamagitan nito ay makakatulong tayo para ma-decongest ang mga ospital,” Regional Director Ariel I. Valencia stated during the ceremony.

Meanwhile, to commemorate the start of yet another construction, DOH hosted the groundbreaking of Dolores Birthing Home.

A one-storey facility with a 4-bed capacity, funded through the DOH Health Facility Infrastructure Project under GAA 2023 with a P5 million total project cost.

“Health is a basic right, at yan po ang inaasahan sa atin bilang lingkod bayan. Ibibigay po natin ang para sa kanila. Tayo po ay magtulungan upang ang lahat ay makaabot sa serbisyong pangkalusugan na tutugon upang magkaroon tayo ng isang maunlad na bayan,” Valencia added.

Dolores Mayor Orlan Calayag gratefully extended his appreciation and gratitude to Valencia and Quezon 2nd District Representative David “Jayjay” C. Suarez for their initiative and support in the accomplishment of the project.

“Maraming-maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat lalo na sa tulong na inihandog ng Department of Health. Ito po ay isang manipestasyon na sa isang bayang nagkakaisa, ay talaga namang panalo ang taumbayan,” Mayor Calayag said.

The project will be completed in 180 days based on the facility’s perspective.

Other guests who witnessed the two events were Rommel Edaño Jr. (representative of Quezon Province 2nd District Cong. David “Jayjay” C. Suarez), Vice Mayor Renato B. Alilio Jr., Dr. Kristine Mae Villaseñor, PHO; MPS led by P/Maj. Jollymar R. Seloterio, members of the Sangguniang Bayan, employees of Dolores RHU, MDRMMO, and Quezon Provincial Office.
