
DML Garin files COC, seeks reelection
HOUSE Deputy Majority Leader and Iloilo First District Rep. Janette Garin on Saturday filed her Certificate of Candidacy (COC) for reelection.
As she filed her COC, Garin vowed to continue to push for legislations to uplift the lives of the Filipinos.
“Ipagpapatuloy natin ang pagbibigay ng dekalidad na serbisyong publiko para sa ating mga kapwa Ilonggo at buong sambayanang Pilipino,” Garin said.
“Patuloy tayong magsusulong ng mga batas na magpapalakas sa kapakanan at karapatan ng bawat isa, tungo sa mas maunlad na lipunan,” the legislator-doctor added.
Aside from the legislations, Garin, also widely known as “Doc Nanay,” would also continue to champion health-related programs to ensure the health and well-being of the Filipino citizens.
Garin has authored and co-authored number of bills since she took office, including creation of Department of Health Specialty Centers Act, Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act and E-Governance Act.
She was also one of the authors of the newly passed law—Magna Carta of Filipino Seafarers.
Moreover, as the vice chairperson of committee on appropriations, the lawmaker vowed to ensure that the national budget is properly spent.
“We will guarantee that public funds are being allocated efficiently and in alignment with their intended purposes,” Garin pointed out.
