THE camp of flight attendant Christine Dacera will appeal the resolution of the Makati City Prosecutor’s Office dismissing the charges filed against 11 individuals implicated in the celebrated death last January.

“There are many options on our part, the Dacera family can go to the Department of Justice to appeal this dismissal or we can refile this cases, we can refile the drug case, we can refile the rape case…we are not going to say amen to this dismissal because we are looking for truth and justice not only for Christine Dacera, ” Atty. Brick Reyes, the family’s spokesperson, said.

Just the other day, the Makati Prosecutor’s Office has dismissed for lack of probable cause the charges filed against 11 persons tagged in Dacera’s death.

Cleared for rape with homicide were John Pascual Dela Serna III, Romel Galido, John Paul Halili, Gregorio Angelo De Guzman, Jezreel Rapinan, Alain D. Chen, Mark Anthony Rosales, Reymar Englis, Louie Delima, Jamyr Cunanan, and Eduard Pangilinan.

In a resolution, Assistant City Prosecutor Joan Bolina-Santillan said the “evidence presented are insufficient to engender a well-founded belief that rape, homicide or rape with homicide has been committed”.

Dacera was found unconscious in the bathtub of her hotel room in Makati City on New Year’s Day following a party with friends the night before.

Hotel personnel tried to revive her before she was rushed to a hospital where she was declared dead.

Three suspects were arrested and were provisionally charged with the crime of rape with homicide before the Makati City Prosecutor’s Office.

But the prosecutor’s office ordered the release of the suspects pending results of a formal preliminary investigation.
