NASABAT ng mga tauhan ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) sa Port of Clark, at Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency – Airport Interdiction Unit (PDEA-AIU) ang P7.634 milyong halaga ng ecstasy na isinama sa parcel ng mga gummy candy, at Belgian waffle biscuits.

Ayon sa BOC ang parcel ay galing sa Brussels, Belgium at ipinadala sa Quezon City.

Nakatanggap ng derogatory information ang PDEA laban sa paparating na kargamento kata isinailalim ang parcel sa K-9 sniff test ng Customs Examiners.

Nang magbigay ng indikasyon ang aso na mayroong presenta ng ilegal na droga ay isinailalim ang parcel sa physical examination kung saan nakita ang 4,491 tableta na pinaghihinalaang ecstasy.

Nagsagawa ng chemical analysis ang PDEA at nakumpirma na ang mga tableta ay Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), isang ipinagbabawal na gamot sa ilalim ng Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act o Republic Act No. 9165.

Naglabas ng Warrant of Seizure and Detention laban sa parcel dahil sa paglabag sa Section 118(g), Section 119(d), at Section 1113 paragraphs (f), (i), at (l) ng Republic Act No. 10863, o Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA), kaugnay ng R.A. No. 9165.

Binigyang-diin ni District Collector Jairus S. Reyes ang kahalagahan ng pagbabantay at koordinasyon ng mga ahensya upang magtagumpay ang laban kontra sa ipinagbabawal na gamot.

“This operation sends a clear and strong message—the Port of Clark will not be a gateway for illegal drugs. Let this be a firm warning to smugglers and consignees attempting to exploit our borders,” ani Reyes.

Tiniyak naman ni Customs Commissioner Bienvenido Y. Rubio ang buong suporta ng ahensya sa pambansang kampanya kontra droga.

“This successful seizure is a testament to our commitment to intelligence-driven enforcement and border protection. Under the guidance of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., we will continue to pursue aggressive measures against drug smuggling while ensuring the safety and well-being of the Filipino people,” ani Rubio.
