Back in the early 2000s, there was a very popular rap battle competition in the longest-running noontime show, Eat Bulaga. It was called “RapPublic of the Philippines.”

It was a clash of aspiring Filipino rap artists and contestants were mentored by the late Master Rapper Francis Magalona. The competition’s grand champion was a trio from Marikina, Triangulo, who eventually become the hitmaking and now comebacking Hip-hop group Crazy as Pinoy.

To acknowledge their being Pinoy, they got their individual screen names from popular characters of Jose Rizal’s Noli Me Tangere. They are Lordivino Ignacio, also known as Basilyo, Muriel Anne Jamito (Sisa) and Jeffrey Pilien (Crispin).

Under the guidance of Francis M., Crazy as Pinoy recorded songs in two volumes of “RapPublic of the Philippines” albums. Their hits include Panaginip, Huwad and Crazy Dance.

In the mid 2000’s, the group continued to create songs and allowed each other to pursue solo careers. Basilyo made it big with his hit song Lord Patawad and is now a full-fledged actor and has starred with Coco Martin in the TV series FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano and Batang Quiapo.

He also composed songs for TV shows and movies like Vendetha, Cardo Dalisay, 3pol Trobol Huli Ka Balbon and Jack Em Popoy: The Puliscredibles to name a few.

Sisa, the powerful voice behind the hit Panaginip, excelled behind the scenes as composer of commercial jingles and songs for popular artists.

She did ’Di Ba Halata for Toni Gonzaga, Ngumiti Ka Lang for Lyka Gairanod and ’Di Ka Man Lang Nagpaalam for JK Labajo.

Crispin, meanwhile, continued to do collaborations with various hip-hop artists and create viral hits such as Misyon with Barakojuan and Marikina All-Star, Minahal Kita Agad with Bullet, Duff Uno and Jeremiah Toribio.

This year, Crazy as Pinoy decided to regroup and share new songs for the Gen Zs. Coincidentally, a clamor for a reunion performance of their iconic song, Panaginip came about and Wish 107.5 granted the request.

To date, their YouTube performance on the Wish bus has garnered 14 million views since February.

With new management Blvck Entertainment behind them, Crazy Pinoy claims that it’s going to be an explosive year of new songs and projects for the group.

Their first single under Blvck Music is a 2023 version of Panaginip plus an official music video directed by acclaimed director Titus Cee.

Panaginip 2023 by Crazy as Pinoy is included in their new digital album. It is now available on different music streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, Amazon, Deezer, Medianet, Boomplay and YouTube Music.
