Cops arrest 2 suspected drug traffickers
POLICE Regional Office (PRO) 6 agents arested two top drug targets in a buy-bust in Negros Occidental.
The arrest also resulted in the seizure of over two kilograms of shabu worth P13.8 million, PRO6 director Brigadier General Sydney N. Villaflor told the Journal Group on Thursday.
The two suspects John Valentin Remegio, 34, of Barangay Caingin in Lapaz, Iloilo City and Crismark Blancaflor, 27, of Bgy. Poblacion, Bingawan, Iloilo are now facing non-bailable charges for sale and possession of prohibited drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
According to Villaflor, undercover officers from the San Carlos City Police Station arrested the two suspects inside Hacienda Sta. Ana in Bgy. Palampas in San Carlos City shortly before 3 p.m. Wednesday.
Recovered from the duo were 2,015.25 grams of shabu worth P13.7 million and the buy-bust money topped by several marked bills.
“Isa na naman pong napakalaking tagumpay para sa atin itong pagkahuli ng dalawang high-value individuals at pagkakumpiska ng napakalaking halaga ng droga.
Marami na naman po ang ating mga naisalbang buhay dahil sa matagumpay na operasyong ito,” the official said.
