
COA lauds Port of Manila for high revenue collection
THE Commission on Audit (COA) recently praised the Port of Manila (POM) District of the Bureau of Customs (BOC) for achieving its highest revenue collection performance in 2024.
According to the Audit Observation Memorandum (AOM) of COA dated February 24, 2025, its collection reached 99.347 percent from the P84.813 billion tax collection target last year.
It also showed that the Port of Manila’s collection was higher in 2024 compared to 2023 that only collected P72.764 billion.
The AOM report added that the POM’s high collection would be a big contribution to the government’s funds that would be used to finance the programs of the Marcos administration.
The report also said, “We commend the management for its high performance on revenue collection for CY 2024.”
Collector Alex Alviar is the head of the Port of Manila of the BOC.
While, Finance Secretary Ralph Recto received an appreciation letter from ZTE Philippines, Inc. last March 6, 2025.
The company praised the BOC, particularly the Port of Manila led by Coll. Alex Alviar for its speedy processing of customs clearance that did not cause any delay to their project with the Caloocan Data Center.
