
Chopper reported missing in Palawan
AN Alouette helicopter with five persons aboard including a nurse, patient, two companions and the pilot reportedly went missing Wednesday in Palawan, aviation authorities reported.
Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) spokesperson Eric Apolonio, in an official report they receved from Philippine Aeronautical Rescue Coordination Center (PARCC), said a medical evaluation flight from Mangsee Island located in the far south west portion of Balabac, was on its way to Southern Palawan Provincial Hospital in Brooke’s Point, Palawan when it was reported missing around 9 a.m., Wednesday.
Apolonio said based on the official report, the helicopter took off 7:30 a.m., (Booke’s Point) to pick up a patient at Mangsee Island (Balabac, Palawan) and was expected to arrive 10:30 a.m. at the Southern Pawalan Provincial Hospital (Brooke’s Point, Palawan), when it was reported missing.
Authorities said the Alouette helicopter with Registry No. N45VX is operated by the Philippine Adventist Medical Avation Services (PAMAS).
Authorities said several teams from the government and the owner-operator of the reported missing helicopter immediately launched search and rescue operations.
