POLICE arrested two Chinese Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) workers and their Filipino bodyguard who were accused of kidnapping a Chinese couple in an entrapment operation Wednesday evening in Pasay City.

Pasay Police chief P/Col. Cesar Paday-Os identified the arrested suspects as Shu Beibei, 26, Niu Xing Yong, 32 both residents of 50 Williams St., Byg 13, Pasay and their alleged bodyguard Rolando Olvido, Jr. 33, of 39 Bgy. Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City.

In his report to Southern Police District (SPD) Director P/BGen. Jimili Macaraeg, Col. Paday-Os said they were able to rescue Yongqing Song, 38 and his live-in partner Mia Miao Chi, 38 both residents of Unit 504 Santillan Condominium, Pio Del Pilar, Makati City after their Filipino friend, whom they asked to contact their relatives to pay the ransom money, sought police assistance.

An entrapment operation was conducted at No. 50 William St., Bgy. 13 resulting in the arrest of the suspects,

Youngqing told police that the first group of unidentified kidnappers held them captive for three days in Las Pinas City while they were applying for a job.

The suspects demanded 1.5 million Chinese yuan equivalent to more than P11 million which was paid by their relatives in China through electronic transfer.

Instead of releasing them, the suspects allegedly sold them to their fellow Chinese national on Tuesday, August 24, and were brought to Pasay City where they were asked to pay P.4 million ransom for their freedom.

P/Gen. Macaraeg lauded the responding police personnel of Pasay City Police Station and Pasay Investigation and Detective Management Section for their quick response that led to the immediate arrest of the suspects. “This only shows the dedication and commitment of the SPD against organized crime group” he added.
