PINAG-AARALAN na ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA)na ipatawag si Chinese Ambassador the Philippines Huang Xilian.

Ito ay para pagpaliwanagin kaugnay sa ginawang pagharang ng Chinese Coast Guard (CCG) sa barko ng Pilipinas na nagsasagawa ng rotation at resupply mission sa BRP Ayungin Shoal kung saan isang sundalo ang naputulan ng daliri.

Sa pulong balitaan sa Malakanyang, sinabi ni Foreign Affairs Acting Secretary Maria Theresa Lazaro na hinihintay na lamang ng kanilang hanay na umuwi ng bansa si Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo na dumadalo pa sa pagpupulong sa Greece.

“There is – there is this certain moves except that si Secretary will be here later tonight and that things will kick in on the possibilities,” pahayag ni Lazaro.

Ayon kay Lazaro, may ginagawang diplomatic front ang DFA.

“We are also doing something on the diplomatic front. We have a mechanism that has been in existence for quite a number of years. That’s the bilateral consultative mechanism on the South China Sea,” pahayag ni Lazaro.

“This mechanism is the last meeting — that we had was in January 17 nung pumunta ako sa Shanghai. And there were discussions and some confidence-building measures that have been formulated,” dagdag ni Lazaro.

Ayon kay Lazaro, maaring masundan pa ang pagpupulong.
