PHILIPPINE chess lost another ardent supporter-benefactor.

Greg Rellorosa, president of the famed V. Luna Chess Club, passed away peacefully in his sleep at their family residence in Malabon last Sunday, June 9.

He was 87.

His body now lies in state at the Santo Rosario Village Chapel in Gov. W.Pascual Ave., Malabon.

Interment is scheduled at 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 13 at the Everlasting Crematorium along Letre Road, Malabon City.

He is survived by his three sons Jojo, Glenn and Dennis and their families.

A long-time confidant-adviser of the late FIDE Honorary Lifetime president Florencio Campomanes, Rellorosa made his mark as president of the V. Luna Chess Club located at V. Luna Ave., Diliman, Quezon City, and Malabon Chess Club.

Among the prominent mainstays of the V. Luna Chess Club were GMs Rogelio Antonio, Jr. and Jayson Gonzales, IMs Chito Garma, Barlo Nadera, Angelo Young, Cesar Caturla, and Jan Emmanuel Garcia and FM Mari Joseph Turqueza.
