This according to Manila 6th District Rep. Bienvenido “Benny” Abante Jr., who on Tuesday filed his certificate of candidacy to run for a third straight term as representative of the 6th legislative district of Manila.

Accompanied by Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna, members of his family and his supporters, the veteran lawmaker asked for prayers as he filed his candidacy “to run for my last term as Congressman.”

In a message to his supporters, Abante said “I dedicate this all to my Lord! To my beloved 6th district of Manila and to those that believe in me… our Barangay officials and our leaders… the fight for what is right and godly continues!”

The longtime pastor-public servant said he would continue to work for the welfare of all those in his district 24/7, and continue to pursue advocacies that would honor God and benefit the country.

“Tuloy tayo na tutulong na walang piniipiling panahon o tao… sa patuloy na paglilingkod… para sa Diyos at para sa bayan!”

A respected leader of the House, Abante has served two consecutive terms in Congress, and is currently the Chairperson of the House Committee on Human Rights. He previously served as Minority Leader and Deputy Speaker.

Abante is running under the banner of Asenso Manileño together with Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna and Vice Mayor Yul Servo.
