Cavite has new top cop
IMUS CITY, CAVITE – The province of Cavite has a new police director in the person of Col. Dwight Alegre.
Police Regional Office 4A director Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth T. Lucas led the turnover rites yesterday at the Covered Court of Cuartel, Camp BGen Pantaleon Garcia in Bgy. Poblacion, this city.
Alegre replaced outgoing Cavite police provincial director Col. Eleuterio M. Ricardo Jr..
The turnover ceremony was graced by Cavite Gov. Athena Tolentino as the guest of honor and speaker.
Lucas presented an award to Ricardo in recognition of his contributions to the province’s peace and order initiatives in his almost one year tour of duty in the province.
“Sa bawat isang naririto, sa mga mga bumubuo ng kapulisan ng Cavite, maraming salamat sa inyong suporta, dedikasyon, at sipag. Kayo ang naging katuwang ko sa bawat hakbang, at ang ating pagkakaisa ay nagbigay-daan upang maisakatuparan natin ang ating mga layunin. Hindi ko makakalimutan ang inyong sakripisyo sa araw-araw, ang pagkakaisa at pag-oorganisa ng lahat sa tuwing mayroong programa o bisita,” Ricardo said as he relinquished his duties and responsibilities as provincial director.
Alegre formally assumed office and said: “Makaakaasa po kayo na ang PNP Cavite sa ilalim ng aking pamumuno ay mananatiling nakahandang maghatid ng maayos at epektibong serbisyo sa inyo. Magkaisa po tayo at magtulungan para sa katuparan ng ating iisang hangarin para sa ikabubuti ng ating mahal na lalawigan ng Cavite.”
