Caloocan cash aid seen completed before deadline

CALOOCAN City Mayor Oscar “Oca” Malapitan is expecting the distribution of cash assistance to qualified beneficiaries in the city to be completed before the 15-day deadline set by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

A latest update received by Mayor Oca on Thursday showed that around 20,451out of 368,925 qualified beneficiaries included in the list provided by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) already received their cash assistance.

The city chief executive also directed the local government to provide additional payout sites to further accelerate the distribution of financial assistance from the national government.

“Kahit po piyesta-opisyal at araw ng Sabado at Linggo, ipagpapatuloy namin ang pamamahagi ng ayuda at magdaragdag kami ng payout sites ngayong weekend para mas mapabilis itong pamamahagi,” Mayor Oca said.

“Sisikapin talaga namin na matapos ang pamamahagi ng pamahalaang lungsod sa loob ng 15-araw na deadline o mas maaga pa para matanggap kaagad ng mga benepisyaryo nito,” the mayor added.

On Friday, the city government distributed cash assistance to a total of 58 barangays in the city that were carried out in Barangay 132 covered court, Garlic court in Bgy. 28, Caloocan High School, Bgy. 150 covered court, Lerma covered court, A. Bonifacio Elementary School, Villa Ocampo covered court, Glorietta Tala, City Hall North, Vista Verde covered court, Amparo High School and Pangarap High School.
