Cadet dies after collapsing during training in Cavite
A TRAINEE soldier died after he collapsed during a training in Ternate, Cavite, police said yesterday.
The victim was identified as candidate trooper Joel V. Jimena Jr. (157590-N) of the Basic School Marine Barracks Gregorio Lim, Bgy. Sapang 1, Ternate.
Jimena was declared dead on arrival at the San Lorenzo Ruiz Hospital.
The incident occurred at 7:10 a.m. last Wednesday.
He was undergoing swimming lesson and practical application at the Katungkulan Beach Marine Barracks Gregorio Lim in Ternate, along with the other cadets, when he suddenly collapsed.
Jimena was rushed to the hospital but to no avail.
An investigation is ongoing.
