
CAAP personnel returns ‘lost’ cash, valuables to OFW
A MAINTENANCE personnel of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) returned a green envelope containing P82,000, a cellphone and other important belongings he found unattended at the Cauayan Airport, Monday, July 3, 2023, AN official of the agency said.
CAAP Spokesperson Eric Apolonio said the green envelope was discovered by Alexander Nuñez atop a baggage cart around 12:08 p.m.
Apolonio said based on the official report submitted by CAAP Area Center 2 Manager Mary Sulyn Sagorsor and Cauayan Airport Manager Grensen Villoria the green envelope was found to contain important documents belonging to an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW).
The documents include an ID, a cell phone, passport, and P82,000.
CSIS personnel at the Cauayan Airport returned the envelope to its owner identified as Evelyn Ignacio Lakaden.
“His (Nuñez) of honesty reflects the values we uphold at Cauayan Airport. We always strive to provide a safe and secure environment for all passengers here and ensure their belongings are handled with care. We are glad to have Nuñez as part of our team,” said Villoria.
