THE Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) held a simple ceremony on Monday, April 3, 2023, recognizing the “exceptional honesty and integrity” of its airport and central office employees.

During the ceremony, three security officers, namely Dianalyn Ignacio, Jessie D. Amoroso, Dewnil L. Husada, and security guard Steward Lapatan were presented with awards and certificates of appreciation by Director General Captain Manuel Antonio L. Tamayo for their “outstanding dedication to their jobs and their honesty in line of service.”

Dianalyn Ignacio, a CAAP Security and Intelligence Service (CSIS) personnel assigned at the departure area of Roxas Airport, together with Cebu Pacific staff Victor Aragon and an Aviation Security Group police officer named “Ejercito,” returned a sling bag containing cash amounting to P200,000, medicines, and important documents owned by a former Capiz Governor.

While Husada and Amoros, two of the awardees from CSIS in Roxas Airport, turned over valuable baggage containing high-value jewelry and important documents left behind by a foreign passenger at Roxas Airport’s arrival area. The three CSIS personnel were able to identify the owners and immediately facilitated the return of the baggage.

Another awardee was Steward Lapatan, a security guard on duty who was able to return a lost file organizer that contained a large sum of cash amounting to P32,000 and other important documents that were left by a pilot client last March 24 in the Flight Standards Inspectorate Service (FSIS) building in Pasay City Central Office.

“These actions remind us that the culture of honesty is alive and well within our agency. I hope that these examples will inspire the rest of the CAAP community to emulate their honesty and do the same in every way possible, especially as we are civil servants,” said Tamayo. “They should make us all proud by exemplifying the absolute aspiration for integrity and honesty in public service,” he added.

During the flag-raising and awarding ceremony, Tamayo also gave awards to employees who rendered at least 40 years of dedicated service in CAAP. The official stated that the recognition of the employees is a testament to the commitment to recognizing and celebrating its employees’ achievements and contributions to CAAP.
