ON Monday at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City, Senator Christopher “Bong” Go congratulated graduates of the 51st Commencement Exercise of Philippine Christian University (PCU) Dasmariñas City, Cavite campus.

With the theme “Unveiling the Transformative Power of Your True Identity in Christ,” the event celebrated the hard work and dedication of 849 graduates of various courses.

As guest of honor and commencement speaker, Senator Go began by aligning the importance of faith with the academic journey of the graduates, underscoring how their true identity in Christ has played a vital role in their success.

“Your faith has been your guiding light, helping you overcome challenges and reach this significant milestone.Your hard work and commitment have brought you here today. Continue to study hard and work towards your future, for it holds endless possibilities,” Go said.

Go also honored the parents and guardians of the graduates.

“Your unwavering support and faith in your children have been crucial in their journey. This celebration is as much yours as theirs,” he said, highlighting the collective effort behind each success story.

Senator Go also thanked the faculty members and the entire school community for their dedication and nurturing spirit.

Meanwhile, Senator Go reaffirmed his commitment to advocating for educational programs that bolster the sector.

He noted that during the administration of former President Rodrigo Duterte, Republic Act No. 10931, known as the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act, was legislated. This law has significantly helped impoverished students by providing free education at local colleges, universities, and state-operated technical vocational institutions.

Building on the achievements of RA 10931, Senator Go has co-authored and co-sponsored Senate Bill No. 1360, which aims to broaden the scope and coverage of the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES).

Go has also co-authored RA 11510, which institutionalizes the Alternative Learning System (ALS) and improves the delivery of basic education to underserved and disadvantaged students. The law provides support for typically underrepresented students, such as Indigenous students, students from less privileged backgrounds, and students with physical and learning disabilities.

The 51st Commencement Exercise of PCU Dasmariñas, Cavite, was a testament to the transformative power of faith and education, with Senator Bong Go’s message resonating deeply with all in attendance.

The event ended on a high note with the senator’s message reminding the students to continue to dream big, work hard, have faith and serve the people.
