SENATOR Christopher “Bong” Go on Thursday, June 2, assured the Filipino people that he will not tire serving them as he reaffirmed his commitment to work for the hopeless and the helpless.

In an ambush interview after his monitoring visit of the Malasakit Center at Davao Oriental Provincial Medical Center in Mati City, Go expressed his gratitude to current Senate President Pro Tempore Juan Miguel Zubiri, who earlier confirmed that Go shall continue to head both the Senate Committees on Health and Sports.

“Salamat.

The senator added that he will serve the people in whatever capacity given to him, but said that he still prefers to chair the Health and Sports committees because he believes that they are where he can best serve the public.

“And of course, dito sa sports.

A staunch advocate of sports development in the country, Go authored and co-sponsored Republic Act No. 11470, establishing NAS in 2020.

Go explained that the said law is in line with his vision of providing a dedicated learning facility where promising young athletes can further hone their talents while getting quality education. The NAS Main Campus is located at the New Clark City Sports Complex in Capas, Tarlac.

“So, ibig sabihin at the same time makapag-aral ka habang nagte-training ka.

“Ngayon po, at the same time, puwede mong gawin dahil nag-aaral ka while nagte-training ka. Iyan po ‘yung National Academy for Sports,” he added.

Go said that while President Rodrigo Duterte’s term is coming to an end, he said that he will not tire serving the Filipino people.

He also reassured Filipinos that he will remain a “quietly working senator”.

“So, rest assured, I’m here to work quietly as your senator in the next three years. Working senator and working quietly na senador ninyo,” Go ended.
