THE leadership and members of the Bukidnon Fellowship of Congregational Churches (BFCC) condemned the deception, influence and infiltrating into their churches by communist groups in the province.

Yesterday the thousand members of BFCC held a program at the Valencia City Gym in Bukidnon and showed their unity and unwavering faith, as well as commitment, to serving the communities.

“The inception of Bukidnon Fellowship of Congregational Churches (BFCC) is a concerted effort of church workers and members in remaining steadfast to the principles of United Church of Christ of the Philippines (UCCP). It upholds the autonomy of local churches and rallies behind the 4Rs—Reclaim, Restore, Rebuild, and Revive. Our fellowship stands as a beacon of hope and a testament to our unwavering faith in Christ and commitment to serving our communities with love and compassion,” said Rev. Jenifer Centillas Castillano, administrative pastor of UCCP Valencia City Bukidnon in a letter.

In February in Bukidnon, some church leaders evicted churchgoers from UCCP Liloan, Valencia and padlocked the doors of the UCCP Kawayan, San Fernando church, forcing congregation members in the two churches to worship elsewhere .

This followed a series of dialogues aimed at reconciliation, which unfortunately, did not include efforts from the bishop who did not attend.

Castillano said, the incident indicated a larger, more insidious influence infiltrating their church.

“The ideology of the CPP-NPA-NDF has been a source of discord and division, challenging the very core of our faith and community. The recent actions of certain church leaders, influenced by this ideology, have led to unnecessary strife and hardship for our congregations,” said the pastor.

The BFCC maintained that it is united with church members in the struggle focused on the principles of Christ’s teachings and the autonomy of local churches.

“We reject any ideology of CPP-NPA-NDF that seeks to undermine our faith and disrupt our fellowship,” said Rev. Castilian.

Castillano called all UCCP members to unite in prayer and action to recover their churches from the grip of divisive influences.

“Let us restore the sanctity of our worship and the unity of our fellowship. Let us rebuild our communities on the foundation of Christ’s love and teachings. And let us revive our commitment to serving the needy and spreading the Gospel,” the pastor added.

He also urged their leaders to reflect on their actions and return to the true path of Christ.
