Batangas PNP nets 649 felons

CAMP GEN. MIGUEL MALVAR, Batangas — The intensified law enforcement operations by the Batangas Police Provincial Office headed by acting provincial director Col. Glicerio Cansilao led to the arrest of 649 law violators in the province.

Of the total number of arrests, Cansilao said 236 were involved in illegal drugs.

Seized during a series of buy-bust operations and implementation of search warrants were 125.74 grams of shabu and marijuana worth P876,284.

The Batangas top cop said 113 wanted persons were arrested during the service of warrants of arrest while 282 individuals engaged in illegal cockfighting and illegal number games were held.

Cansilao said 18 men were nabbed for illegal possession of firearms while a total of 19 loose guns were confiscated.

“Let us continue to work hand-in-hand to accomplish our mission to prevent and control crimes, maintain peace and order and ensure public safety. We highly encourage the community, especially Batanguenos, to actively participate in the PNP’s efforts of promoting peace,” Cansilao said.
