THE Marcos administration has launched the “Bagong Pilipinas” (New Philippines) campaign as its brand of governance and leadership, part of efforts to promote an “all-inclusive” plan for economic and social transformation.

Under Memorandum Circular (MC) 24 inked by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on July 3, “Bagong Pilipinas” is characterized by a “principled, accountable, and dependable government reinforced by unified institutions of society whose common objective is to realize the goals and aspirations of every Filipino.”

All national government agencies (NGAs) and instrumentalities are directed to adopt the “Bagong Pilipinas” campaign in their programs, activities, and projects, according to a statement from the Presidential Communications Office based on MC 24.

MC 24 covers government-owned or -controlled corporations (GOCCs) and state universities and colleges (SUCs).

“Bagong Pilipinas is the overarching theme of the Administration’s brand of governance and leadership, which calls for deep and fundamental transformations in all sectors of society and government, and fosters the State’s commitment towards the attainment of comprehensive policy reforms and full economic recovery,” the order read.

The “Bagong Pilipinas” brand, which already has an approved logo, will be part of the Marcos administration’s communications strategy.

“All NGAs and instrumentalities, including GOCCs and SUCs, shall adopt the ‘Bagong Pilipinas’ logo and incorporate the same in their letterheads, websites, official social media accounts, and other documents and instruments pertaining to flagship programs of the government,” it added.

Malacañang has yet to release a copy of MC 24.

In his previous vlogs, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. repeatedly mentioned his plan to transform the country as a “new Philippines.” Philippine News Agency
