Azurin commends CAR cops for major anti-crime victories

PHILIPPINE National Police (PNP) chief, General Rodolfo S. Azurin Jr. has commended the Cordillera Police Regional Office headed by Brigadier Gen. Mafelino A. Bazar for its major accomplishments in the campaign against all forms of criminality specifically drugs.

The top cop issued his congratulations to the PROCOR cops during a command visit in Camp Major Bado Dangwa in La Trinidad, Benguet where he gave a talk before uniformed and non-uniformed personnel of the regional police force.

In is speech, Gen.Azurin expressed gratitude to the Cordillera police officers for their hard work and dedication to service for the country and the Filipino people.

He particularly noted the capture of most wanted criminals and insurgents in the region which is home to the provinces of Abra, Apayao, Benguet, Kalinga and Mountain Province and of course, Baguio City.

“These arrests are testaments to our unwavering commitment to ensure the safety and security of our communities. And with this, we will continue to work together to track down the enemies of the state and bring them to justice,” the top cop said.

Gen. Azurin likewise praised the PROCOR’s recent successes in the fight against illegal drugs in Benguet and Kalinga provinces.

“The destruction of marijuana plants and products in these two provinces has resulted to a significant blow to the illegal drug trade, and we can all be proud of these efforts. This is a victory not just for the law enforcement, but for our entire society, as we work together to create a safer and more secure future for our communities,” he emphasized.

The PNP chief also took the opportunity to remain his men to stand up and be counted in the internal cleansing program of the PNP which is continuously being waged to regain the full trust and confidence of the people.

“We must show the people that we are serious about this campaign. We must show them that we are willing to go the extra mile to regain their trust. We must show them that we are not just men in uniform, but that we are also men of honor and integrity,” Gen. Azurin said.

The PNP chief also witnessed the groundbreaking ceremony of the Regional Intelligence Division (RID) and Regional Intelligence Unit 14 (RIU14) Building, which will provide the police intelligence personnel with the necessary tools and resources to conduct their work effectively and efficiently.

He also inaugurated the newly constructed Regional Forensic Unit Building which provides a comfortable and conducive working environment for the police personnel to provide more effective and efficient police services.

“I am confident that this state-of-the-art facility will significantly improve our capability to prevent and solve crimes in our region”, Gen. Azurin said.

He also lauded the PROCOR leadership’s dedication to providing their personnel with a well-equipped working environment and access to the most basic needs such as potable water which is now is evident in the newly repaired La Trinidad Municipal Police Station and the groundbreaking ceremony of the new PROCOR Water System.

“I want to express my gratitude to everyone who made these projects possible. This is not just an evidence to the cooperation and teamwork of our police force, but also because of the support of our partners in the government, the private sector, and the communities we serve,” Gen. Azurin said of the PROCOR which is known to be the ‘Home of Disciplined Cops’ apart from being a major source of brave, highly-dedicated and honest police personnel who have been praised for their many good deeds.
