FORT MAGSAYSAY, Nueva Ecija – The 7th Infantry “Kaugnay” Division, through its 91st Infantry “Sinagtala” Battalion, said it is relentlessly pursuing its anti-insurgency “information drive” in the countryside amid reports of the alleged “deceptive” style of recruitment in schools done by the rebel movement.

In Aurora province, 7th ID (Infantry Division) Commander Major General Andrew D. Costelo said he has ordered Lt. Col. Julito Recto Jr., of the Sinagtala Battalion and his men to conduct an awareness drive among students at the Cabog Integrated School in Bgy. Matawe, Dingalan and at the Rosauro R. Tangson National High School in Bgy. San Isidro, San Luis, to counter the communist terrorist group’s (CTG) recruitment activities.

“Awareness among the youth on CTG’s ‘deceptive’ recruitment will save them from the dangers brought by the terrorist group that is why we have been intensifying our information campaign in schools. We would also like to extend our gratitude to the headteachers of the schools for their active cooperation and collaboration in support of our campaign,” said Costelo.

Lectures rendered by Army 1st Lts. Jevie Sagragao, Hamilton Dawaton, and Zamzamyn Dimasidsing of the 91IB (Infantry Batallion), highlighted the info drive about the CTG’s “Youth Infiltration Awareness” on Grades 10, 11, and senior high schools students.
