THE city government of Manila announced the closure of some roads in Tondo on Saturday, June 24, to give way for the Civic Military Parade in celebration of Araw ng Maynila.

Manila Public Information Office (MPIO) head Atty. Princess Abante said the temporary road closures that will start at 6 a.m. onwards will be implemented along the stretch of Moriones Street from Mel Lopez Blvd. to N. Zamora Street; J. Nolasco Street from Morga to Concha Streets, and Sta. Maria St. from Morga to Concha Streets.

The Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau (MTPB) advised affected motorists to take the following alternate routes:

All vehicles coming from N, Zamora intending to utilize Moriones St. going to Mel Lopez Bvd shall turn left to Moriones St. to Dagupan St. to point of destination.

All vehicles coming from Nolasco and Sta Maria Streets intending to utilize Moriones St. shall turn left to Concha St. turn right to N. Zamora St. to point of destination.

All vehicles coming from Morga St. intending to utilize J. Nolasco St. and Sta Maria St, going to Moriones shall turn left to J. Luna St. to point of destination.

All vehicles coming from Mel Lopez Blvd. intending to utilize Moriones St. shall go straight R-10 then turn right to Capulong St. to point of destination.

All vehicles coming from Juan Luna St. intending to utilize Moriones St. shall turn and go straight to Tayuman St. to the point of destination.

Earlier, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. declared June 24, a Saturday, a special non-working day in the city of Manila in observance of its 452nd founding anniversary.
