An inspiring call
PRESIDENT Marcos has called on the more than 120 million Filipino people to remain resilient and optimistic amid life’s trials.
Marcos issued the welcome call on the occasion of the start of Christendom’s Holy Week celebration the other day (Palm Sunday).
In his Palm Sunday message, the Chief Executive urged the public to draw strength and hope from the Lord Jesus Christ’s sacrifice.
“I join the entire Filipino nation as we take a brief pause from our daily routines to observe this Holy Week, Marcos said.
He also urged the public to ponder on the Lord Jesus Christ’s perfect example of compassion and self-giving.
Of course, we, like other Christians across the globe, share the view of Christ that the path of Calvary was not an easy journey.
Like in the Philippines, we have so many problems, challenges and trials that we have to hurdle.
But with the support of the people, the government of President Marcos is seen to address all these obstacles to progress and development.
It is a gigantic undertaking but not an impossible mission.
