SANTA ROSA City, Laguna — As the national campaign enters its second half and the local campaign period begins on March 28, the administration-backed Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas is set to ramp up its efforts to conduct more campaign rallies.

Alyansa campaign manager and Navotas City Rep. Toby Tiangco announced that they will have tighter coordination with local candidates and intensified grassroots activities.

During a press conference here before the grand rally, Tiangco said the coalition is finalizing plans to align national sorties with local campaign schedules, particularly in areas where they have allied candidates.

“Since mag-start na ‘yung local campaign, kanina we are discussing it with our candidates at marami po silang imbitasyon sa local rally. Siyempre kung ka-Alyansa nila ‘yun, they will have to fit it in to their schedule,” Tiangco said.

He said the coalition will meet again before March 28 to balance national sorties with local engagements.

“Sila ay kapartido natin at syempre sila rin ay magtutulong sa ating mga kandidato upang ipaliwanag ang kanilang plataporma,” he said, referring to Alyansa’s local allies.

Recognizing the importance of local outreach, Tiangco said that the grassroots nature of local campaigns is crucial to communicating each candidate’s platform.

“Napakahalaga din na malaman hanggang sa ating mga kababayan kung ano ‘yung magandang plataporma nung bawat kandidato,” he said.

When asked about Alyansa’s next campaign stops, Tiangco said: “As we have previously done, we always announce it only two weeks in advance for reasons na I hope you understand.”

The Alyansa ticket is composed of former Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos, Makati City Mayor Abby Binay, Senator Ramon Bong Revilla, Senator Pia Cayetano, former Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson, Senator Lito Lapid, Senator Imee Marcos, former Senator Manny Pacquiao, former Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, Senator Francis “Tol” Tolentino, ACT-CIS Representative and former Social Welfare Secretary Erwin Tulfo, and Deputy Speaker Camille Villar.
