SPEAKER Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez expressed satisfaction on Sunday with the results of the latest OCTA Research survey, showing the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) as among the most trusted and top-performing government agencies.

Speaker Romualdez said he was pleased with the survey results in light of the continuing internal and external threats to national security that the men and women in uniform continue to address daily.

“The latest findings from the OCTA Research survey, highlighting the public’s perception and satisfaction with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), present a significant moment for our nation,” Speaker Romualdez said.

“I am particularly heartened to learn that awareness of the AFP has reached a universal mark of 100% among adult Filipinos, increasing from 89% in October 2023. This universal awareness indicates the AFP’s prominent role and presence in our national consciousness,” noted the House chief.

He said that the survey results showed that an overwhelming majority of the respondents, 86%, were satisfied with the AFP and its accomplishments and thus maintained a high net satisfaction rating of +84.

“This level of satisfaction is consistent with the previous rating of +83 in October 2023, demonstrating steady confidence and trust in our military institution. These results underscore the AFP’s status as one of the most trusted and top-performing government agencies in 2023, according to OCTA Research,” said the leader of the 300-plus strong House of Representatives.

He said the consistently high ratings for trust and satisfaction “reflect the dedication, professionalism, and commitment of our armed forces to the safety and security of our nation.”

Speaker Romualdez said that the survey reaffirms the vital role of the armed forces in national security and peacekeeping, as well as reflects the deep trust and respect they have earned from the Filipino people.

“As Speaker, I express my sincerest gratitude to the men and women of the AFP for their unwavering service and sacrifice. Maraming salamat po sa lahat ng inyong serbisyo at malasakit sa ating mga mamamayan. Hindi po matatawaran ang inyong sakripisyo matiyak lamang na ligtas ang ating bayan mula sa anumang banta o panganib,” he said.

Speaker Romualdez further reaffirmed the House of Representatives’ commitment to supporting the AFP in its mission to defend the country.

“We will continue to work towards providing our military with the necessary resources and legislation to ensure they can perform their duties effectively and continue to garner the high level of public trust and satisfaction they so rightfully deserve. Let us all continue to support our Armed Forces as they work tirelessly to maintain peace and security across our archipelago,” he said.
