
Abby Binay wins endorsement of Pampanga political winners
SENATORIAL candidate and Makati Mayor Abby Binay on Wednesday assured residents of Pampanga that she will prioritize making free maintenance medicines available for all, as she gained the endorsement of Pampanga Governor Dennis Pineda, Vice Governor Lilia Pineda and other local officials.
The Makati mayor received the endorsement of the Pinedas during the fourth and last rally organized by the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas in the province.
Binay expressed her gratitude to her fellow local officials and Pampanga residents who attended the series of rallies for supporting her and her fellow Alyansa candidates.
In her speeches, Binay laid out her key advocacies in the Senate, including free maintenance medicines especially for senior citizens, enhanced day care program, and tax-exempt overtime pay, 13th month and other bonuses of workers.
She underscored the importance of focusing on early childhood education.
“Dapat tutukan ang mga day care centers natin dahil kailangan maliit pa lang, bago pa tumuntong sa Grade 1, mahilig nang magbasa, marunong na ng konting Math. Pagdating sa Grade 3, dapat marunong nang magbasa, magaling na sa English at Math,” Binay said.
She also pledged to advocate for the tax exemption of overtime pay, 13th month and other bonuses of workers to increase their takehome pay, which will promote financial security for every Filipino family.
Other officials present during the rallies included Congresswoman Anna York Bondoc-Sagum, Congressman Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II and provincial board members of Pampanga.
At the first rally held in Jose Lapid Arena, Angeles City, Binay was met by Angeles City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin, Jr., Magalang Mayor Malu Lacson, Porac Mayor Francis Tamayo, and Arayat Mayor Maria Lourdes “Madir” Alejandrino.
Binay also received a warm welcome from Floridablanca Mayor Darwin Manalansan, Guagua Mayor Anthony “Tonton” Torres, Lubao Mayor Esmeralda “Esmie” Pineda, Sasmuan Mayor Catalina Bagasina, and Bacolor Mayor Eduardo Datu at the second rally in Laus Events Center, San Fernando City.
Congresswoman Bondoc-Sagum led local officials in welcoming Binay to the Kingsborough International Convention Center in San Fernando City for the third rally. Also present were Masantol Mayor Jose Antonio Bustos, Minalin Mayor Philip Naguit, San Luis Mayor Jayson Sagum, San Simon Mayor Abundio “JP” Punsalan, and Santo Tomas Mayor John Sambo.
