SAUDI authorities are investigating the death of an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) who was found lifeless in his hotel room in Haradh, Saudi Arabia on May 18, the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh reported.

In a statement dated June 8, the Embassy only said the OFW was an employee of the Al-Khobar-based company Total Safety.

The government and Saudi authorities are now facilitating the repatriation of the OFW’s remains to the Philippines, it said.

In the same statement, the Embassy advised Filipinos in Saudi Arabia “to refrain from speculating” and making conclusions about the case pending results of the investigation.

“The Embassy is coordinating with the family and the employer of the deceased OFW as well as with relevant Saudi authorities to facilitate the shipment of the OFW’s remains to the Philippines soon after a police report on the cause of death is finalized,” it added.
