
Girl, 18, stabbed to death; cousin seriously hurt in Biñan
AN 18-year-old female student was stabbed dead, and her 14-year-old male cousin was seriously injured after a canteen helper went on a stabbing spree, early Wednesday morning in Barangay Langkiwa, Biñan City, Laguna.
Laguna OIC (Officer-in-Charge) Provincial Director P/Col. Randy Glenn Silvio, said the female victim sustained several stab wounds in her body.
She was declared dead on arrival at Ospital ng Biñan by the attending physician.
Meanwhile, his cousin also sustained stab wounds in the body and is now under medical intervention at Perpetual Help Hospital in Biñan City.
An initial report by Biñan City Police Chief P/Lt. Col. Virgilio Jopia said that right after the incident, the suspect was arrested in the follow-up operation conducted by the authorities.
Jopia said charges of murder and frustrated murder will be filed against the suspect before the Biñan City Prosecutor’s Office.
Probers said the suspect broke the lock of the gate of the victim’s house and immediately saw the female victim, then stabbed her several times.
He then took turns stabbing the male cousin of the victim using an eight inches kitchen knife, which was recovered at the crime scene.
Jopia said they’re investigating allegations of “jealousy” angle for the suspect’s motive.
