3 CTG members yield, arms seized in Davao de Oro

POLICE Regional Office 11 (PRO11) Director Brig. Gen. Benjamin Silo Jr. on Saturday reported the surrender of three members of the communist terror group (CTG) and the recovery of several high-powered firearms in Davao de Oro.

Silo said based on a report from Davao de Oro Police Commander Col. Leonard Luna, CTG members who surrendered to the New Bataan Police were identified as Richmarch Roval Bisaya alias “Marmar”, 20, of P-4, Bgy. Anibongan, Maco, Davao de Oro; Leymar Tonglasan Sia alias “Jack”, 27, of Bgy. Parasanon, Maragusan, Davao de Oro, both members of WGF 2, SRC 2, SMRC; and a 17-year-old minor identified only as alias “Wenwen”, of Bgy. San Jose, San Fernando, Bukidnon, member of ROC, SMRC.

Luna said the CTGs likewise recovered a cache of guns – an M60 machine gun, one K3 light machine gun, one M203 grenade launcher, four M16 rifles, and one Claymore mine or improvised explosive device (IED).

Upon interview, alias “Wenwen” revealed the location of the firearms he personally buried somewhere in Sitio Mission, Bgy. Andap, New Bataan, Davao de Oro.

Silo said an “Oplan Mission Misson Win” was formed by a team composed of POMU DDOPPO Chief Lt. Col. Jess Anthony Maghirang and the Philippine Army’s 1001st BDE who were immediately dispatched to the area to verify the report.

The joint Philippine National Police (PNP)-Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) personnel proceeded to Sitio Mission, Bgy. Andap, New Bataan, and scoured the area where they recovered the high-powered firearms.

Silo said 1st DDOPMFC newly designated Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Commander Maj. Edgardo Bernardo is conducting the debriefing on the surrenderees.
