Lady back rider dead, MC driver hurt in road mishap
TUY, Batangas – A female back rider was killed and her husband was injured after the motorcycle they were riding was accidentally hit by a car while cruising along the road in Bgy. Tuyon-Tuyon, Tuy, Batangas, the other day.
Tuy Police PMaj. Gabriel Aniag identified the fatality as Elsa Mendoza and her injured husband as Ereneo Mendoza and De Guzman, 44, married, a construction worker, and a 10-year-old daughter Christalyn, all residents of Bgy. Mataywanak, this town.
According to Case officer PCpl. Gerardo Barrion Visto, investigation showed that a black Rusi motorcycle where the victims are on board was accidentally hit by a Nissan Sentra sedan driven by Leo Ryan Vergel, 43, of Bgy. Palincaro, Tuy, while traversing along the national highway of Bgy. Tuyon-Tuyon around 9:45 p.m.
Both vehicles were traversing in the same direction heading to Tuy town proper.
Due to the big impact, Ereneo Mendoza lost control and the motorcycle continuously ran, resulting in the trio tumbling down on the road pavement.
All 3 sustained multiple injuries and were rushed to Don Manuel Lopez Memorial District Hospital for medical treatment but the back rider Elsa Mendoza was pronounced dead on arrival by attending physician Dra. Mary Ann Arellano.
