Man shot, wounded in Malabon

A jobless man was critically wounded after he was shot several times in the body by a still unidentified suspect Thursday evening in Malabon City.

Malabon police chief P/Col. Albert Barot said Jerome De Leon, 39, of 113 Adante St., Brgy. Tanong was rushed by concerned citizens to Tondo Medical Center where he underwent surgical operation due to gunshot wounds in different parts of the body.

Investigation showed that while the victim was walking on his way home at around 9:30 p.m. along C-4 Road, Bgy. Tanong, a lone gunman followed him from behind and shot him repeatedly upon reaching the dimly lit portion of the road.

After the incident, the suspect immediately escaped on foot towards an unknown direction, bringing with him the weapon he used.

Elements of the Scene of the Crime Operatives ed by P/Maj. Sonny Boy Tepace recovered from the crime scene four empty shells and one deformed bullet for unknown caliber of firearm.

Investigators are still conducting a follow-up investigation to determine the motive behind the incident while a manhunt operation was launched for possible arrest of the suspect.
