David, iba pang celebs suportado ang mayoral bid ng talent manager
SUPORTADO ng mga alaga niya, sa pangunguna ng Pambansang Ginoo na si David Licauco, ang muling pagsabak sa pulitika ng talent manager/ALV Entertainment chief na si Arnold Vegafria, ang Anak ng Gapo mayoral candidate sa Olongapo City ngayong eleksyon.
Ito ang ikalawang pagtakbo ni Arnold mula 2022. This time, mas desidido umano siyang mag-focus sa public service na dama niya ay kanyang “calling”.
Sinurpresa nga si Arnold ni David nang dumalo kamakailan sa isang rally sa Gordon College na dinumog ng eight to 10,000 supporters ng tinaguriang “Manager ng Bayan.”
“I didn’t expect na darating siya,” sambit ni Arnold nang humarap recently sa Pandesal Forum na pinangasiwaan ni Wilson Lee Flores ng Kamuning Bakery Cafe.
Maliban kay David, todo-suporta rin sa kandidatura ng talent manager ang ilang beauty queens bilang ito ang official franchise holder ng Miss World Philippines at Miss Grand Philippines pageants.
“For now, itong election na ito, beauty queens, they helped me. They’re always there everytime I need their support. Pero siguro ’yung aking Miting de Avance, baka nandiyan ’yung ibang mga artists ko. But I don’t expect,” turan pa ng dating manager ni People’s Champ Sen. Manny Pacquiao.
Sa May 9 gaganapin ang Miting de Avance sa kahabaan ng Magsaysay Drive, sentro ng kanyang rehabilitation drive para maging progresibo’t major tourism destination muli ang Olongapo.
“Kasi nga ang konsepto ko is i-revive ko ang Magsaysay Drive which is the main tourism industry ng Olongapo and I want to show to them na, you know, that I’m serious of doing… ayusin natin ang entertainment ng Olongapo,” paliwanag ni Arnold.
Kabilang din sa key advocacies niya sa mayoral bid ang job generation, revitalization of economic zones, health prioritization, educational reform, infrastructure and transportation modernization, environmental protection, sports, arts and cultural development, flood control, waste management, reduction of electrical/power charges at anti-drug campaign.
Dagdag naman sa listahan ng prominente niyang supporters ang celebrity vlogger na si Small Laude at ang batikang broadcast journalist na si Korina Sanchez.
Kung ang ibang mga politiko raw ay nagbabayad pa ng endorsers, si Arnold, masuwerteng nakukuha ito nang libre sa malalapit na celebrity friends.
Pag-amin niya, “Social media plays a big role this time.”
Naniniwala si Arnold na sakaling palarin, makatutulong siyang ibalik ang glory days ng kinalakihang probinsya na nakilala bilang “Cradle of Pinoy Rock” noong dekada ’70, panahon ng U.S. military bases.
“This is my most fervent wish, to bring back the glory days of Olongapo City the way I remember it best,” sey niya.
“All we need to do is to revitalize our industrial infrastructure and attract foreign investors and tourists to stimulate economic boom.I know that it won’t be an easy task, but I am confident that with our team’s dedication, we can rebuild this city and bring back the economic and tourist boom that our city enjoyed during the time of the U.S. naval bases,” patuloy niya.
Wala naman daw dapat ipag-alala ang mga alaga dahil maluklok man sa pwesto, hindi pa rin tatalikuran ni Arnold ang nasimulan sa showbiz industry.
Pangako niya, “Hindi lang talent management ang ginagawa ko. Marami pa akong ibang negosyo, mas marami pa kesa entertainment. But this time, babawasan ko ang business at magpo-focus bilang public servant at entertainment business because hindi ko iiwanan ang entertainment business dahil dito ako nagsimula, dito ako nakilala at dito ako nirespeto ng mga tao because of the entertainment industry.”
