TWO top drug targets in Metro Manila were arrested by agents of the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group during a buy-bust operation in Caloocan City late Sunday evening which led to the confiscation of some 11 kilograms of shabu worth P74.8 million, PNP-DEG Officer-in-Charge, Colonel Rolando B. Cuya Jr. said yesterday.

In a report to PNP chief, General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil, the official said that the suspects identified only through their aliases ‘Joyary,’26; and ‘Ambulo,’25, were arrested during a sting in Barangay Amparo in North Caloocan at around 8:15 p.m.

Undercover officers from the PNP-DEG, joined by operatives from the National Capital Region Police Office, the Caloocan City Police Station, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency conducted the successful anti-drug operation.

Col. Cuya said that the drugs recovered from the suspects have been submitted to the PNP Forensic Group for qualitative and quantitative examination.

The suspects were brought to the Caloocan City Sub-Station 15 for documentation following their arrest. They were charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 for for sale and possession of prohibited drugs.
